Written Reflection
Describe what photographic techniques you used to take photos for your Happy Place, if any.
I used mostly simplicity for this assignment, I got in close on my subject and took a lot of close up pictures. I think that my best photos were probably the pictures with simplicity, and I thought that this technique really helped me when I was shooting for my final happy place project. I also used point of view in my project and took the photos from the perspective that I saw things.
Describe what additional steps you took to make your Happy Place more successful (editing, staging shots, reworking Picassa grid, etc...)
I used a lot of editing in Picasa before I uploaded my pictures. I had to brighten and crop just about every picture I took, and on some of my pictures I used visual effects such as the batting gloves picture, I put a soft focus on the picture so that only my gloves were in focus. I also had to set up a lot of my pictures I used a timer on my camera so that I could position myself in the right place when the picture was taken.
Reflect on your project. As the last shooting assignment of the trimester, how strong was your project? How do you feel you did? What, if anything, could you/should you have done to improve it? I thought that my project was very strong. I worked hard on it over the weekend and got the final end result that I wanted. I couldn't capture all of these pictures by myself so I set up the shot and had somebody else push the button for me and take the final picture when the timer option wasn't available. The thing that I could improve on would be taking easier shots that I could take without the help of anybody else and become more independent with my photography.
